Spring is here and so are updates from Rebecca!

March 25, 2026

Hello Reader,

It has been a while since I got an update out! Life has been full of projects and personal happenings. As we move into spring (how is it late March already!?) I'm feeling inspired, creative, and motivated to move my business forward. Here are some updates of what's been happening!

The Past two months

Outdoor Marketing Bootcamp
In February I spoke on two different topics at the Outdoor Marketing Bootcamp led by 52Eighty Creative. It was a great experience sharing about consistent branding and tips for people who where many hats.

Procreate for Beginners
I have officially led my first class of teaching at the Denver Botanic Gardens School of Botanic Art and Illustration! I have been a student for over two years in the program, but never did I imagine I'd be teaching! It was a great experience with great conversation and questions from the students. My favorite part? Seeing some of their work shared in Padlet and learning more about their experience.

Lifetime Creative Coaching Program
This February I started an entrepreneur creative coaching program to help me align my business with my goals. I have officially been running my business for over five years, but it felt like time to really focus in on my offerings... and have some accountability!

Passion Projects
Because I'm not busy enough, I have also been helping with other projects like PTO events at my son's school. This has been a great way to connect and get involved with my community.

Update on Instagram
Last year I thought I would create an Instagram (@BotanicalsByBecca) to document my botanical art, but I have realized it is unsustainable. I neglected my business Instagram (@Rebecca_Leigh_Designs) and then felt paralyzed with posting on either. I have decided to stick to only using my business Instagram, but share both art and design/business items. I hope you'll follow along!

Upcoming

Procreate for Botanical Illustration
In less than two weeks I'll be leading my next class with the Denver Botanic Gardens School of Botanic Art and Illustration. This course will be over three weeks April 7-21 and I'll cover bringing in sketches to Procreate, recreating them within the software, using layers, using masks for non-destructive experimenting, and then exporting your composition for transferring to your final paper. Join me!

Class: Procreate for Botanical Illustration

We’ll use Procreate for sketch refinement, composition planning, value studies, color exploration, and transferring your digital work to paper. Perfect for anyone wanting to bridge digital + traditional botanical art. Tuesdays: April 7, 14 & 21 with Denver Botanic Gardens.

Booking for May

Right now I'm looking to take on a few new clients / projects for May! Please let me know if you need help with any graphic design projects you have coming up.

Let's Stay Connected!

I so appreciate each and every one of you following along with my journey! Please feel free to reach out if you are interested in collaborating! In the meantime, I hope you'll follow me on Instagram!

November 17, 2025 Hello Reader, I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting this season — the kind that comes from stepping back, taking a breath, and looking honestly at what kind of work actually lights me up. I realized I’ve been offering too much, doing work that was fine… but not work that energizes me or fits the direction I want to grow. All of that reflection has led me to simplify. I’m narrowing my focus, choosing the work that feels good for my energy, my creativity, and my life. And the...

July 18, 2025 Hello Reader, This summer’s been full — of trailhead moments, big creative energy, and a lot of behind-the-scenes work. I just wrapped up my blog series Make Your Own Map, a candid look at what it really takes to carve out a creative career in the outdoor space — especially if your path looks a little different. Whether you’re a guide-turned-creative or a desk-job-escapee (like me!), I hope this series helped you feel a little more grounded — or at least less alone. Missed a...

September 29, 2023 Hello Reader, It is crazy to believe September is coming to an end! This month has been a whirlwind. I started a new contract role on September 1 and I've also been working in my office! Things have been so busy around here I haven't had much time to think about this newsletter, let alone get a blog out or add a new product to my store. So a brief update from me: My new contract role is with the Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals (SORP). I'm also still working with...
